Jessica Milligan
Jessica's yoga journey began in 2010 when she added yoga onto the end of her workout routine to stretch and breathe. She had a deep spiritual experience during a savasana and realized that yoga is more than just physical practice. She was hooked, and utilized yoga to help her lose 100 pounds! All the while deepening her spiritual practice and self-awareness, practicing different styles of yoga with dozens of teachers around the world.
In 2016 she received her 200-hour certification in Ananda Yoga at Expanding light in Nevada City California. Ananda yoga is both a Hatha yoga that focuses on proper alignment of the body, but also Raja yoga focuses on connecting the physical body to the spiritual body in every pose. She opened a yoga studio in 2018, where she taught hundreds of students, while continuing to train, receiving her chair yoga and restorative yoga certifications. In 2022, she traveled to Rishikesh, India to receive her 300hr certification in Kundalini Yoga from the World Peace Yoga School.
Soon after returning to the US, she broke her neck in a terrible accident that left her paralyzed for a few months. Through dedicated rehabilitation and her yoga practice, she bounced back quickly crediting her recovery to the strength she built up in her body and mind from her yoga practice, both before and after the accident. She returned back to Rishikesh in 2023 to receive her sound healing certification.
Now she specializes in teaching gentle, beginner, restorative, kundalini, and chair yoga, along with sound healing. She is passionate about teaching students in a gentle way, so people understand that yoga is accessible to people of all ages, skill levels and physical capabilities. She focuses on proper alignments of poses and guiding people on how to stay connected to their body and mind on and off the mat. She continues to practice with as many teachers as she can, to gain knowledge and techniques to share with students
